Party Tent FAQs

1)    How do I figure out how big a tent I need?

The size of a tent is determined by what you want to cover.   Is this a cocktail party or a sit-down dinner?  Will there also be tables for food, a bar area,   or a Disc Jockey and his equipment? Do you need a dance floor?

Once you determine what you want under the tent, we can recommend the size tent you will need and create several suggested layouts for best traffic flow.

Here are some examples to give you an idea of how many persons will  fit by style of party:

Tent Size             Cocktail             Sit Down Dinner
20'x20'                       60-70                 40
20'x40'                      130-160               80

30'x40'                       175-200             110

30'x60'                        300-360              180

2)    Do I need a permit for a tent to be set up in my backyard?

You might. Each municipality has different ordinances, so be sure to check with the "permit department" of your local City Hall in advance.  Any permits required are the responsibility of the customer to get.

3)    Can you set up a tent on the beach for a wedding ceremony?

Yes, but there are two challenges to tents on the beaches of Florida; Tides and Turtles!  Timing is crucial to place a tent on the beach because of incoming tides; please check with the County where the beach is located for probable times of tides on the day of your event.  Also, special permission to erect a tent must be obtained from the County where the beach is located, because of nesting sea turtles, a protected endangered species.  Obtaining written permission to place a tent on the beach is the responsibility of the customer.
